  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

  Writer, photographer, and former East Africa bush guide, Skye Moody is the author of two previous books of nonfiction, and seven books of fiction focusing on environmental issues. As a journalist she has covered Chinese and Ukranian coal mining, reindeer herding in Siberia, textile mills and farming in Uzbekistan, river pollution in the Republic of Georgia, and the effects of acid rain in the Arctic Circle, winning critical acclaim for her books of nonfiction, Hillbilly Women and Fruits of Our Labor. She is a member of PEN American Center.
